About the Trainee Program

For nine months, you will work approximately 80 percent with your employer on the tasks included in the trainee position. In your work, you will be supported by an experienced mentor. During the remaining time, you will participate with other trainees in a development program. The program provides you with knowledge about how municipalities, regions, and government agencies are organized, as well as deepening your understanding of areas that are cornerstones of the organizations, such as sustainability, economics, crisis management, and community building.

During a four-week period, you will have a so-called broadening period. This means you will be a trainee in one of the other organizations included in the program to gain a broader insight. Towards the end of the program, we will assess the conditions of the organization and your interest in continued employment.

About Us

Hudiksvall Municipality is looking for a trainee in business development and place marketing.

The position will be organized within the municipality's Business Development Unit. The unit's mission spans from business consulting and establishment issues to place and destination development as well as urban and rural development. Together with our businesses, residents, and visitors, we work to make Hudiksvall Municipality grow and become more attractive.

The workplace is located in newly built premises in the Kattvikskajen district, close to public transport and with a view of the marina. Several of the municipality's operations in the community building area are also located here, along with the research institute RISE.

Job Responsibilities

As a trainee in business development and place marketing, you will primarily work with communication as a tool and with business and place development as your playing field. An important part of the assignment is to contribute to ensuring that our efforts achieve the organization's goals and the actual needs that exist among our businesses, residents, and visitors.

You will have close collaboration with the Communication and Attractiveness Unit and contribute to developing how the municipality plans, implements, and follows up on our communication efforts related to business and place development assignments.

In this role, you will among other things:

• Contribute to analyzing target groups and needs among businesses, residents, and visitors.
• Participate in planning and follow-up of communication efforts related to projects, initiatives, and collaborations.
• Contribute to communication in our digital channels, such as the web and social media, as well as physical units.
• Participate in workshops and events related to development work and collaboration.
• Engage in collaborations and networks with businesses, organizations, and other actors related to business and place development.

Qualifications

You have an academic degree in, for example:

• Economics with a focus on marketing
• Strategic communication and PR
• Industrial design
• Another area that the employer deems relevant for the assignment.

At the time of application, your academic degree must be no more than three years old, and you must be able to present your diploma. A driver's license (B) and good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, are necessary for the position.
